Extra Off the Reformer. Exact On It. Meet Kate.
Class Spice Rating ️ ️ ️ ️
Teaching Style: Chill but focused
Signature Move: Layered progressions (she builds from a base and turns up the heat)
Playlist Energy: Britney. Always Britney.
Kate’s a star. A vibe. The kind of human who walks into HQ and somehow brings her own lighting.
So as the newbie on the team, you can imagine my confusion when I sat down to ask her about her teaching style.
Calm. Thorough. Solid form. No fluff.
Sorry… what?
Because my experience of Kate was all sparkles. Glitter. Extra – in the best way.
But apparently when it’s Kate-coded class time, it’s simply: ‘lock in and get it done.’
No pretences. No dramatic choreography.
Just strong foundations and a quiet burn that sneaks up on you.
There’s always that one instructor who looks chill… until your legs start shaking.
For Kate? That’s not an accident. These sessions are all about you – not her.
Her classes are precise. Strength-focused. Big on form. Never overcomplicated.
She’s not just glitter – there are layers. Let’s get into them.

From Stage to Studio
Kate started teaching Pilates in 2019, but movement has always been part of her world. With a background in dance and teaching, the transition into Pilates felt natural – conditioning, control, discipline. It was already woven into what she knew.
For her, it wasn’t about suddenly discovering fitness. It was about refining it. Stripping things back. Getting stronger in a more intentional way.
Pilates shifted from performance to control. From doing the most… to doing it properly.
And once that clicked, teaching felt like the obvious next step.
Dropping The Ego
For someone who’s unofficially in charge of HQ’s ‘Silly Break Time’, Kate doesn’t mess around when it’s class time.
So we asked: What’s the biggest myth about Pilates?
“That it’s just stretching. Or that it’s ‘easy.”
“If you think it’s easy,” she says, “you’re probably not doing it right.”
Pilates is a practice. You don’t walk in and own it on day one. Even if you’re strong, even if you’re fit – this movement hits different. It asks you to slow down. To focus. To drop the ego.
And, she notes, that’s actually the biggest mistake beginners make – trying to be a master from the get-go.
“You don’t need to impress anyone. You just need to show up.”
Her advice if you’re nervous?
“Just get amongst it. I’ve taught thousands of people from every walk of life. There’s nothing to be afraid of.”
Off The Reformer
So who’s Kate when she’s not running the room?

If Pilates didn’t exist?
“I’d be a pop star. Honestly, I can’t believe I’m not one.” (Nor can we.)
Coffee order? Oat latte.
Favourite way to move (other than Pilates)? Strength training.
Weekend vibe? High energy Saturday, chill Sunday.
Something people wouldn’t guess? She swears she’s very laid back – and we’re still processing that at HQ.
How You’ll Leave Feeling
If you take a Kate class, you’ll walk out knowing you worked. Not in a chaotic, gasping-for-air way – but in that steady, grounded way where everything feels switched on and aligned.
You’ll feel strong. Capable. A little surprised at how much those “simple” movements did.
And in the words of her idol Britney: Stronger than yesterday.
Find Kate on the @pilates platform. And once you’ve taken her class, you’ll understand exactly what we mean.
Curious about that 4/5 spice level?
